Belong Connecting through BELONGING

God's will is for you to BELONG. What are the steps we all need to take?

B – BECOME a follower of Jesus Christ through salvation and baptism.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

“Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.” (Acts 2:41)

NEXT STEP: Get in contact with the Pastor and set-up for baptism.

E – EMBRACE a life of purpose through the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

“’Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. ‘And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:36-40)

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

NEXT STEP: Connect to a local church (C.L.A.S.S. 101: Discovering Our Church)

L – LIVE life together in the context of a small group.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42)

NEXT STEP: Sign-up for a Life-Group or a Home-Group. Our Groups meet at several different times.

O – OFFER your time and resources to others.

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)

NEXT STEP: Discover your ministry and look for ways to serve in your church. (CLASS 301)

N – NURTURE relationships within the community by sharing your faith in Christ.

“In your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” (1 Peter 3:15)

NEXT STEP: Take steps to share your faith. (Invest and Invite)

G – GROW in spiritual health.

“Those who hope
(wait) in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles (soar when there’s a crisis); they will run (when challenges are many) and not grow weary, they will walk (in the day-by-day demands of life) and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31)

NEXT STEP: Become more like Christ with the help of C.L.A.S.S. 201: Discovering Spiritual Growth.

CURIOUS HOW TO JOIN WARDS CREEK CHURCH?

1. ATTENDANCE of CLASS 101:Discovering Our Church. This class is conducted  the first Sunday of September, January, and April -- or if needed the class can be conducted 1 on 1 with perspective members.

This helpful class explains our church's structure while clarifying our beliefs, values, and membership commitment. It is an open time of inquiry and discussion that should answer any questions you may have about Wards Creek.

2. INDICATION of Salvation by Profession of Faith & Baptism, by Letter, or by Statement. If you believe the Lord is leading you to join Wards Creek, you may indicate this during CLASS 101: Discovering Our Church. Those joining may do so in one of three ways:

*By PROFESSION OF FAITH AND BAPTISM: If you will receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord and follow Him in Baptism by immersion, we welcome you into our church family. Baptism gives testimony to others of your salvation and demonstrates your obedience to Christ's command.
*By LETTER - If you are a member of another Baptist church and God leads you to move your membership letter here, we will be happy to welcome you into our church body. We can take care of the details of transferring your letter of membership.
*By STATEMENT - If you have made a previous profession of faith in Jesus Christ and have been baptized by immersion in another church of like faith and order, we will accept you upon your statement of these conditions.

3. PRESENTATION of new members by Pastor Buddy to the church body while indicating their chosen Life Group and place of service.

Home-Groups and Life-Groups are the life blood for Wards Creek Church. We believe that the Christian-life is more than just attending Sunday services. It's also about connecting to other people within the church community. We have designed affinity groups for ages 18 and up. These groups meet in homes and at the church campus on Sunday and Tuesday evenings at 6:30. We would love for you to come and visit one of the groups we have for you.

The care and ministry to our church family is expressed through our Home & Life-Groups.

Wards Creek is a Bible believing, Bible living church community. So based on Scripture each Home & Life-Group is devoted to:

1. The Bible as the primary guide for life
2. Prayer
3. Holy Spirit driven friendships
4. Being awestruck by God's power to transform
5. Meeting one another's needs at all costs
6. Having a good time together
7. Praising God together through singing and testimonies
